Open Calls
Baseball is weird when you think about it long enough. It is repetitive, ceremonial, irrationally emotional, and somehow still capable of breaking your heart on a random Tuesday night in July. Which is probably why Cincinnati keeps coming back to it, season after season, year after year, no matter what the standings say.
Us by Us Gallery is once again hosting 200c, our annual Reds themed art show. It is not subtle. It is not ironic. It is a sincere, slightly unhinged celebration of a city and a team that refuse to emotionally divest from each other.
This is an open call to artists, designers, and makers who feel compelled to respond to baseball, Cincinnati, or the strange overlap between the two. The work can be reverent, critical, nostalgic, obsessive, analytical, or completely off the rails. All of that counts.
If you have ever cared too much about a lineup, a logo, a superstition, a losing streak, a radio call, or a moment that happened decades before you were born, you already understand the assignment.

An exhibition reimagining the target as a tool for transformation.
Gun targets: symbols of precision, violence, control, and sport. Mass-produced and immediately recognizable, they’re designed to be destroyed—pierced, punctured, obliterated. But what happens when we turn the target inside out?
Insights and In Sights invites artists, designers, and makers of all kinds to repurpose, rethink, and radically alter gun targets. Take aim at apathy. Use them not for harm, but for healing, protest, absurdity, or joy. Turn a bullseye into a bouquet. Transform crosshairs into compassion. Whether you’re staging a rally for justice, a campaign for dog adoption, or imagining a city blooming from the holes in its own past—this is your canvas.
We’re looking for works that challenge, delight, disturb, or propose. Responses can be personal, political, poetic, or all three. Submissions may include (but aren’t limited to): print, paint, sculpture, photography, textiles, mixed media, or digital work—so long as gun targets are part of the medium or message.
Let’s reframe what we’re aiming for.
